[Log] six months of 0.125mg bumps, the full boring spreadsheet

Logbranch of 4 comments

0.05–0.125mg increments the whole way, way smaller than the standard step sizes. My pharmacist has made a face at me more than once about it. My stomach has never once made a face back, so here we are. Posting the full log, six months, every bump and every side-effect note, because I only ever find people describing…

for anyone following along and confused why 0.05mg bumps are even measurable: it comes down to your reconstitution concentration. mg in the vial divided by mL added gives you mg/mL, and a fine enough concentration makes a 0.05mg step land on a clean, readable unit mark on a standard insulin syringe. get the concentration wrong and these small steps become guesswork.

and dead space matters more proportionally at these tiny doses too, 2-5 units of hub dead space is a much bigger fraction of a 0.05mg draw than of a 1mg draw

which is the actual argument for a more concentrated reconstitution specifically for this style of dosing, fewer total units per draw means the fixed dead-space loss eats less of the total

this is exactly what I ended up doing around month 3, reconstituted more concentrated once I noticed the dead-space math getting annoying at the smallest steps

About c/dosinglogs

Public dosing logs kept over months and years: dose, date, weight, waist, side effects, labs. The value is in the boring consistency, so log posts are updated rather than reposted and the community rewards the people still updating at week 90.
