[Discussion] can we stop arguing about resistance training until somebody posts a number

Discussion

FFMI. That is the whole post, but I will justify it.

Everything else people worry about in c/scamalerts is downstream of it. Titration speed, muscle cramps, the endless dose arguments — most of it resolves if you sort FFMI out first, and almost nobody does.

I say this having got it wrong for 10 months. My triglycerides was the thing that eventually made me pay attention, which is a stupid way to learn a lesson that was in the sidebar the whole time.

Mechanistically the bit that matters is protein. It explains most of the early profile and a decent chunk of the outcome.

protein targets in g/kg

Adding to this: DEXA is doing more work than the comment implies.

This is correct. DEXA is the standard.

the UK here. Waited 10 months on a list, gave up, went private, and the total cost was roughly what I expected.

Genuine question — what concentration were you at?

About c/glp1muscle

Lean-mass retention during rapid weight loss: protein targets, resistance-training minimums, DEXA and BIA measurement reality, FFMI tracking, and the sarcopenia question that nobody funded a proper trial for.

c/glp1muscle rules
  1. Body-composition claims need a method. Bathroom BIA scales are not a method.
  2. Protein targets in g/kg, not "lots".
  3. No supplement selling, no coaching solicitation.
  4. Independent community. Nobody here sells anything, and anyone who tries is banned.
  5. Not medical advice. Describe what you did; never prescribe to a stranger.
  6. Claims need evidence. Batch numbers, dated screenshots, independent test reports, or a citation.
  7. No referral links, discount codes or affiliate URLs. Permanent ban, no appeal.
  8. No contact handles, wallet addresses or tracking numbers — they identify people.
  9. Be recognisably decent. Disagree hard, insult nobody.
