does resistance training actually matter or is it forum lore at this point

Question The Quiet One ×9

FFMI. That is the whole post, but I will justify it.

Everything else people worry about in c/scamalerts is downstream of it. Titration speed, muscle cramps, the endless dose arguments — most of it resolves if you sort FFMI out first, and almost nobody does.

I say this having got it wrong for 14 months. My triglycerides was the thing that eventually made me pay attention, which is a stupid way to learn a lesson that was in the sidebar the whole time.

Strongly agree. Resistance training counts.

protein sarcopenia, not "lots"

Not convinced. The evidence does not support that reading.

resistance training is sarcopenia not optional

Came off after 45 weeks for financial reasons. Regained about a third over the following year. Back on now at a much lower dose.

Yeah, protein matters on rapid loss.

rapid loss plus no protein equals muscle loss

Three years on this site and the questions have not changed at all. Which is depressing or reassuring depending on the day.

protein targets in g/kg

Adding to this: protein is doing more work than the comment implies.

The muscle cramps was genuinely awful for three weeks and then simply stopped. I know that is not useful information, but it is what happened.

Slight fix: the number was 98.7, not 99.0. Decimal point, but a fairly consequential one.

Edit to your parent would help — the concentration you quoted assumes one scenario and you have written another above it.

DEXA is the real measurement
