week 31 check-in — 32kg down, nausea manageable, one thing confusing me

Training Receipts ×4 Long Haul ×2

Something I noticed reading old threads that I have not seen said out loud.

The advice on DEXA in this community changed substantially around the start of last year, and nobody went back and updated the older posts. So depending on which thread the search engine hands you, you get two contradictory answers with the same confidence.

I have listed what I think the current consensus is below. Correct me — that is the point of posting it.

Not to be pedantic but protein and protein are being used interchangeably and they are not interchangeable in real life.

Yes, exactly this, and it is the bit that took me 4 weeks to accept.

Slight fix: the number was 99.1, not 93.7. Decimal point, but a fairly consequential one.

I am going to push back on this slightly.

Second this question. I have wondered about lean mass for 9 months and never seen a straight answer.

Small correction: the trial was 6 weeks, not 4. Does not change your point but people will quote it.

  1. Body-composition claims need a method. Bathroom BIA scales are not a method.
  2. Protein targets in g/kg, not "lots".
  3. No supplement selling, no coaching solicitation.
  4. Independent community. Nobody here sells anything, and anyone who tries is banned.
  5. Not medical advice. Describe what you did; never prescribe to a stranger.
  6. Claims need evidence. Batch numbers, dated screenshots, independent test reports, or a citation.
  7. No referral links, discount codes or affiliate URLs. Permanent ban, no appeal.
