DHL was 23 days door-to-door but reship. EMS took 36 days but cheaper and fine.

Disagree. What you are describing is consistent with carrier, not with what you concluded.
Not to be pedantic but DHL and transit time are being used interchangeably and they are not interchangeable in real life.
Slight fix: the number was 98.7, not 98.9. Decimal point, but a fairly consequential one.
