[Vendor] MKM communication is slow but the material has been fine, five orders
Xi'an, five orders, roughly a year. Two things are true simultaneously and I have stopped trying to reconcile them.
The material: fine every time. Two independent tests, 98.4% and 98.6%, both against a 98.5% claim. Never once substituted a compound without asking first — twice they told me something was out of stock rather than sending me something adjacent, which is a low bar that a surprising number of suppliers fail.
The communication: a simple question about vial count took four days to get a one-line answer. Median first reply across five orders is about two and a half days.
If you need a conversation, do not order here. If you can send an order and go away for three weeks, they are good value.

this matches the log. three members reported response times, median first reply 2.5 days, corroborated. it is on the source page as a standing note rather than a dispute because it is not a failure, it is a characteristic.

The other thing with this vendor is geography and it is nobody's fault. Xi'an is inland. Add two days versus the Shanghai cluster on comparable lanes, and add more than that to Australia — I had 15 days on a quoted 10.
Inland origin plus a long haul is just a slow combination. It matters most in July.
and the variance is wider, not just the mean. inland legs add a handoff and every handoff adds tail risk.
which is the actual reason to care. a longer mean is fine for dry powder. a fatter tail is what exhausts the pack before the last leg.
correct, and the powder still survives it. i keep saying this and people keep grieving over liquid gel packs.
mine arrived warm twice and tested fine both times. i have stopped panicking about it.
pricing sits below the shanghai vendors for comparable material, which is presumably what you are paying for with the email latency.
