comment on [PSA] non-peptide is not what most of this community thinks it is in c/orforglipron · 1 points · 2 months ago

My version of this: I was so worried about the injection that I put it off for eleven days. The injection is the easiest part.

Dead space in the needle hub holds a small but non-trivial volume. On low-volume draws that can be several units.

Crossposting this to c/orforglipron because the people who need it are not reading this community.

comment on why does nobody talk about weekly dosing in c/semaglutide · 484 points · 4 months ago

Removed a chain here.

Yes, exactly this, and it is the bit that took me 96 weeks to accept.

comment on what changed for me between week 45 and week 94 in c/reconstitution · 9 points · 5 months ago

Dead space ate 6 units on a low-volume draw. Tiny impact at 12.5mg, massive impact at 10mg.

Kept a public log for 10 weeks. The comments are what kept it going, honestly. Accountability from strangers works.

Yeah, showing the arithmetic is the fastest way for someone to spot the error.

titration speed is weekly dosing plus side effects, period

comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about bacteriostatic water until somebody posts a number in c/reconstitution · 8 points · 7 months ago

bacteriostatic and sterile water are not interchangeable, do not use them that way

Counter-anecdote: opposite result, same dose. Which mostly tells us the variance is huge.

i am begging people to write down the concentration

comment on [Meta] the dead space rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/reconstitution · 22 points · 7 months ago

10mg vial, 2mL water, concentration is 10/2 — write it on the vial afterwards

comment on the below spec question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/labresults · 280 points · 8 months ago

QYB claimed 97.2%, PeptideMeter came back 98.1%. 21 points is inter-lab variance, no drama.

The confident tone is doing a lot of work that the evidence is not.

never post a calculation as advice without stating the concentration
