three years of week one threads, summarised so you do not have to read them

Discussion Clean Column ×8 Sourced ×1

Long-ish post, sorry. tl;dr at the bottom.

I have been tracking beginner against eGFR for 13 weeks because I could not find anyone who had. The correlation is weaker than I expected, which is itself mildly interesting given how confidently people link the two in here.

Caveats up front: one person, one lab, one assay, no control, and I changed my training in the middle of it, which was stupid.

tl;dr: probably real, definitely smaller than the threads imply, and not worth reorganising your week around.

Disagree on that part. 99.0% and 98.9% on the same vial is normal.

Yeah, that is totally normal for week 23.

The injection was scarier than the what is itself. 3 seconds and I was shocked it was the easiest part.

The confident tone is doing a lot of work that the evidence is not.

Yes, exactly this, and it is the bit that took me 17 weeks to accept.

Not convinced. The evidence does not support that reading.

Not to be pedantic but week one and beginner are being used interchangeably and they are not interchangeable in real life.

About c/newbiequestions

The deliberately gentle community. Every question that gets an eye-roll elsewhere lives here: what does titration mean, why do I feel nothing in week two, is this normal, what is bac water, what is a COA. Rudeness is removed faster than bad questions.
