unpopular opinion: bacteriostatic water is massively overrated

Correction Clean Column ×3 Slow Clap ×2

Genuinely asking, not being difficult.

Everyone in c/cagrilintide repeats that insulin syringe is important. I believe it, but I have never seen anyone show why, and when I search I get 23 threads of people agreeing with each other.

Is there a paper? Is there a measurement? Or is this one of those things that is true because it has been repeated since 2023?

I am not trying to be the "source?" guy. I would just like a source.

Disagree on that part. 99.0% and 98.9% on the same vial is normal.

The single most useful thing I did was write the concentration on the vial. Stopped all the confusion after that.

Spent 21 weeks confused about concentration math until someone showed me the table. 5mg, 2mL, concentration is 5/2.

Cosigning. The concentration on the vial in marker is load-bearing.

About c/reconstitution

The arithmetic and the technique. Bacteriostatic versus sterile water, reconstitution volume as a concentration choice, converting mg/mL into insulin-syringe units, dead space, swirl-not-shake, stopper coring, and how long a reconstituted vial is actually good for. Math errors get corrected fast and politely.

  4. Independent community. Nobody here sells anything, and anyone who tries is banned.
  5. Not medical advice. Describe what you did; never prescribe to a stranger.
