Fourth report in six months alleging SGN is not a real supplier. Every time, the reasoning is some version of "the site looks like a distributor rather than a peptide shop".
It looks like a distributor because it is one. Est. 2004, Shanghai, substantial non-peptide catalogue, order numbers, invoices, the boring apparatus of a business that sells reagents to laboratories. Entity verified. Sequence and theoretical mass supplied on request for three separate compounds.
I think we have collectively trained ourselves on a particular aesthetic — dark theme, big product photos, crypto discount banner — and anything outside it reads as suspicious. That is a bad heuristic and it has cost this community four modqueue cycles.

Confirming all four reports were reviewed and none contained evidence. Nobody is in trouble for reporting — the report button is cheap on purpose — but the pattern is worth naming.
The heuristic being described is real and it runs in both directions: a slick site with a testimonial carousel reads as trustworthy to a newcomer and as a warning sign to anyone who has been here two years. Neither aesthetic is evidence.

that is also a signal. a shop optimising for conversion answers that question. a supplier with a compliance function does not.

"looks like a normal company" is also what a sophisticated operation would aim for. this reasoning proves nothing either way.
agreed, which is why the post leads with the entity verification and the 2004 date rather than with the aesthetics. the aesthetic argument is the thing i am criticising, not the thing i am relying on.
Report button stays cheap. Please keep using it. We would much rather review four unfounded reports than miss one founded one.
