genuine question: how do people actually decide it’s time to ask about going up vs just waiting it out

Question Receipts ×6 Clean Column ×1

Not asking anyone to tell me what to do, more asking about the decision process people used before they had that conversation with whoever prescribes for them. What actually convinced you it was worth raising vs just another stretch of patience?

for me it was duration plus ruling things out, not the stall alone. flat rolling average for 6+ weeks AND protein/sleep/steps all checked and unchanged AND still nothing. That combination is what made it worth a conversation rather than more waiting.

that's a genuinely useful checklist shape, "duration + ruled-out confounders" rather than just duration alone

the duration part matters more than people think too, six weeks means something different depending on whether you're three months in or eighteen months in

strongly agree, at 19 months a six-week flat stretch barely registers to me anymore, at month three it would've worried me plenty

19 months in myself, and honestly the times I considered it were always right after I'd fixed all the obvious stuff and it STILL didn't move. that gap between "I did everything right and it's still flat" and "I haven't actually checked yet" is the whole decision for me.

Good framing for this thread — asking about other people's decision processes rather than asking us what to decide. That distinction matters and this thread is doing it correctly.

appreciate that the question is "what convinced you" not "what should convince me", small phrasing thing but it keeps this from turning into a pile of strangers prescribing

honestly for me it was just impatience dressed up as reasoning, in hindsight I hadn't ruled anything out, I just wanted the number to move faster

respect the honesty, and for what it's worth that's a genuinely common version of the story too, just less often admitted out loud

reading every reply here for my own decision-in-progress, genuinely useful thread

fwiw the honest impatience comment above is the most relatable one in this whole thread

this thread is basically a decent checklist by accident, someone should turn it into an actual wiki page

seconding that, will draft something from this thread if nobody beats me to it
