anyone actually tracked their own sides before/after switching to a split schedule

Side Effects

Fourteen months of nausea logging here and I switched from single weekly to a twice-weekly split about two months ago. My own log shows fewer "bad day" flags since switching but I'm aware that's exactly the kind of thing that's vulnerable to placebo/expectation effects, so asking if anyone else has before/after data rather than just a vibe.

this is the right way to ask this question honestly, most posts just assert it helped. self-tracked before/after is still n=1 with no blinding, but it's a lot better than a vibe.

appreciate that, trying to hold myself to the same standard I'd want from anyone else's claim

tracked mine for about 10 weeks pre-split and 10 weeks post. bad-GI-day frequency went from roughly 3/10 to roughly 2/10 weeks, which is a small enough difference that I genuinely don't trust it's the split and not just time-since-starting doing its normal thing.

right, side effects generally trend down over time on their own as people adapt regardless of schedule changes, so any before/after without a control period is confounded by that trend

would need something like an A/B/A design, back to single dosing for a stretch and see if sides come back, to actually separate the two effects, which is a big ask to expect from self-experimentation

Good thread, appropriately hedged self-report rather than a claim of proof. This is what an honest n=1 discussion should look like.

mechanistically plausible that smoother levels reduce peak-related GI symptoms, but "plausible" and "confirmed in self-tracked logs with no control period" are different confidence levels, worth keeping separate in how this gets talked about.

unrelated side effect but following this thread format because I want to do the same before/after logging for something else I'm tracking, good template

a thread full of honest "might be noise" self-reports is more useful than five confident "it definitely helped" posts, oddly

fwiw (not medical advice, obviously) this thread is a nice model for how to talk about self-experimentation without overselling it

my reflux followed a similar shape, better after switching but I also just had more months on the drug overall, genuinely can't separate the variables either

the burps didn't change for me either way, split or not, so at least one side effect in my experience seems totally indifferent to schedule

playing my usual role: has anyone considered the split schedule just makes people pay closer attention and log more carefully, which alone could shift the reported numbers a bit
