[Question] how long were you on before you tapered

Question Clean Column ×1

Confession thread, sort of.

I went from 1.0mg to 15mg much faster than I should have because the scale had stalled and I got impatient. The stall broke about 7 weeks later, at which point I had no way of knowing whether the dose increase did anything or whether it would have broken anyway.

So now I have constipation I did not need and a data point I cannot interpret. Two lessons in one.

Posting it in the hope that somebody at week 89 reads it before doing the same thing.

Maintenance for 9 months now. Weight moves within about 3kg and the dose is a quarter of what it peaked at.

Stalled for 15 weeks, changed nothing, and it started moving again on week 27.

The thing nobody prepared me for was the quiet. Not the appetite, the quiet. The constant negotiation in my head about food just stopped.

the regain is treatment of chronic condition ending, not failure

Genuine question — what concentration were you at?

Strongly agree. The regain is expected.

Adding to this: regain is doing more work than the comment implies.

About c/tapering

Stopping on purpose: dose reduction versus interval stretching, what the discontinuation arms of STEP 1 and SURMOUNT-4 actually showed about regain, appetite return timelines, and the people who came off, regained, and went back on without treating it as a failure.
