comment on three years of 503A threads, summarised so you do not have to read them in c/compounding · 111 points · 1 year ago

The 503A pharmacy I used lost their shortage list eligibility. Same day, compounding became illegal. Rules are real.

Slight fix: the number was 97.6, not 95.1. Decimal point, but a fairly consequential one.

Strongly agree. ALT is where you catch the liver story early.

Yeah, 503A and 503B are different regulatory animals.

Sceptical. If this were true we would see it reflected in the data and we do not.

comment on [Meta] the below spec rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/labresults · 188 points · 2 years ago

Not convinced. The evidence does not support that reading.

regulatory claims need a citation to the actual rule, not interpretation

The telehealth + compounding combo cost 503B plus 16% markup. Not cheap but covered by insurance depending on state.

Adding to this: lipids is doing more work than the comment implies.

Edit to your parent would help — the concentration you quoted assumes one scenario and you have written another above it.

ferritin tanks quietly on a reduced appetite, check it
