week 56 check-in — 22kg down, muscle cramps manageable, one thing confusing me

Baseline Well Actually ×4 Clean Column ×2 Receipts ×2

Trying to settle this properly because the thread from last year went in circles.

The claim: bloodwork matters. The counter-claim: it is measurement error. Both sides have been asserting it confidently for about 22 months without either producing anything.

What would actually settle it is 21 people measuring the same thing the same way. I have started; my numbers are below. They lean one way but not strongly enough for me to declare victory.

If you have data, post the data. If you have an opinion, flair it as an opinion.

post reference ranges with your numbers, units differ by country and lab

Disagree but this is the good kind of wrong — it is specific enough to be checked.

Strongly agree. ALT is where you catch the liver story early.

eGFR noise on rapid loss is real. 3 week noise, 24 week trend. Do not panic at week 31.

Yes, exactly this, and it is the bit that took me 93 weeks to accept.

Yeah, baseline matters more than any later number.

Edit to your parent would help — the concentration you quoted assumes one scenario and you have written another above it.

ferritin tanks quietly on a reduced appetite, check it

This is correct. ApoB is the better marker.

eGFR noise on rapid loss is real. 16 week noise, 4 week trend. Do not panic at week 5.

My ALT went from 15 to 18 in 63 weeks. The eGFR story shows up in the trend, not the single number.

Inter-lab variance on this kind of assay is routinely 1–2 points. Different column, different gradient, different integration.

ApoB over LDL-C, that is the hierarchy

Sceptical. If this were true we would see it reflected in the data and we do not.

eGFR from 16 to 23 is movement, not noise

The evidence standard in c/vendorvetting gets called too strict about once a month, and every time, the thread ends with the complainant agreeing.

About c/bloodwork

What to measure before you start, what to re-measure, and how to interpret movement without panicking. ApoB over LDL-C, HOMA-IR as a crude free tool, ALT and the fatty-liver story, eGFR noise during rapid loss, and the deficiencies that a 1,100-calorie appetite will hand you.
