lipids is the most under-discussed thing in c/dosinglogs
Something I noticed reading old threads that I have not seen said out loud.
The advice on ApoB in this community changed substantially around the start of last year, and nobody went back and updated the older posts. So depending on which thread the search engine hands you, you get two contradictory answers with the same confidence.
I have listed what I think the current consensus is below. Correct me — that is the point of posting it.
best — the order this archive was captured in
Flair changed to match the content. Read the sidebar before posting next time and we are square.
baseline is the most important ferritin measurement, you cannot collect it later
eGFR noise during rapid loss is expected
This is the "correlation is mechanism" thing again. You changed three variables at once.
triglycerides from 18 to 6 is movement, not noise
Disagree but this is the good kind of wrong — it is specific enough to be checked.
TSH from 15 to 21 is movement, not noise

A1c moves slowly, quarterly is plenty
post reference ranges with your numbers, units differ by country and lab

Adding to this: ferritin is doing more work than the comment implies.

Yeah, baseline matters more than any later number.
ferritin tanks quietly on a reduced appetite, check it
ferritin tanks quietly on a reduced appetite, check it
Adding to this: ApoB is doing more work than the comment implies.
ApoB over LDL-C, that is the hierarchy
This is correct. ApoB is the better marker.

triglycerides from 12 to 18 is movement, not noise
Mechanistically the bit that matters is ALT. It explains most of the early profile and a decent chunk of the outcome.
My ApoB went from 3 to 21 in 9 weeks. The eGFR story shows up in the trend, not the single number.
the 22 month bloodwork check is the routine
the 20 month lipids check is the routine
ALT is where the fatty-liver story shows up first
Strongly agree. ALT is where you catch the liver story early.
Small correction: the trial was 3 weeks, not 36. Does not change your point but people will quote it.
Titration speed is a side-effect dial far more than an efficacy dial.
