the regain is treatment of chronic condition ending, not failure

comment on reading receptor threads from 2024 and half of it aged badly in c/glp1science · 26 points · 6 months ago

Not to be pedantic but receptor and incretin are being used interchangeably and they are not interchangeable in real life.

This is correct. Rodent data is investigational, not predictive.

comment on why does nobody talk about regain in c/tapering · 12 points · 6 months ago

No. This is the kind of confident post that gets copied into a screenshot and repeated for years. Where is the evidence.

Strongly agree. Central appetite is real but people overstate it.

Is that mechanism or speculation?

the half-life is half-life, affects steady state timing

comment on [Discussion] we are measuring EU at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/glp1eu · 20 points · 7 months ago

The evidence standard in c/vendorvetting gets called too strict about once a month, and every time, the thread ends with the complainant agreeing.

Week 14 checking in: nothing on the scale, no nausea, wondering if the pen is broken. No, it is just week 14.

This is correct. Private and NHS pathways are different.

comment on why does nobody talk about tier 3 in c/glp1uk · 3 points · 7 months ago

Strongly agree.

Counter-anecdote: opposite result, same dose. Which mostly tells us the variance is huge.

mechanistic speculation is welcome if flaired as speculation

Disagree but this is the good kind of wrong — it is specific enough to be checked.

Disagree on that part. 94.2% and 95.1% on the same vial is normal.

receptor distribution matters, GLP-1 is not everywhere

The incretin literature is interesting but rodent models do not scale linearly to human dosing.

Maintenance for 10 months now. Weight moves within about 3kg and the dose is a quarter of what it peaked at.

The nausea was genuinely awful for three weeks and then simply stopped. I know that is not useful information, but it is what happened.
