regain — my 14-week log, condensed into one table

Long Term Well Actually ×2

Long-ish post, sorry. tl;dr at the bottom.

I have been tracking maintenance against triglycerides for 7 weeks because I could not find anyone who had. The correlation is weaker than I expected, which is itself mildly interesting given how confidently people link the two in here.

Caveats up front: one person, one lab, one assay, no control, and I changed my training in the middle of it, which was stupid.

tl;dr: probably real, definitely smaller than the threads imply, and not worth reorganising your week around.

the 1.7mg dose works fine for 36 weeks of the month

weight moves within 21kg and that is normal

Slight fix: the number was 96.8, not 98.4. Decimal point, but a fairly consequential one.

Small correction: the trial was 24 weeks, not 25. Does not change your point but people will quote it.

Half-life is about 168 hours, so steady state lands around week 12–5. Practical consequence: what you feel in week 1 is not what that dose does.

The plateau is real and boring. 90 weeks at the same weight, then movement again. Patience was the intervention.

regain after taper is expected, plan for it

Tried the lowest-effective approach. 12.5mg worked for 22 weeks, then cravings returned. 0.5mg was the actual floor.

Tried the lowest-effective approach.

Counter-anecdote: opposite result, same dose. Which mostly tells us the variance is huge.

the lowest dose you can stay on is not the lowest dose that works

Tried the lowest-effective approach. 7.5mg worked for 3 weeks, then cravings returned. 12.5mg was the actual floor.

You have restated the marketing copy. What is the actual substance here.

About c/maintenancephase

The part nobody posts about: what happens at goal weight. Finding a lowest effective dose, dose-interval stretching, regain risk data, muscle retention, the psychology of not having a number to chase, and staying on indefinitely versus tapering.
