the semaglutide question that gets asked weekly, answered properly
Long-ish post, sorry. tl;dr at the bottom.
I have been tracking 2.4mg against ApoB for 5 weeks because I could not find anyone who had. The correlation is weaker than I expected, which is itself mildly interesting given how confidently people link the two in here.
Caveats up front: one person, one lab, one assay, no control, and I changed my training in the middle of it, which was stupid.
tl;dr: probably real, definitely smaller than the threads imply, and not worth reorganising your week around.
best — the order this archive was captured in
Half-life is about 168 hours, so steady state lands around week 7–5. Practical consequence: what you feel in week 1 is not what that dose does.
The confident tone is doing a lot of work that the evidence is not.

Adding to this: weekly dosing is doing more work than the comment implies.
Right, and the corollary is that stopping escalation does not reset your tolerance, it just pauses the clock.
Ozempic versus Wegovy versus research grade is the wrong argument, they are literally the same molecule
Yeah, 80 weeks on 2.5mg, same pattern, same timing.
Strongly agree. If it is not working at 12.5mg after 31 weeks, going up is not automatically the answer.
my triglycerides moved before the scale did and i nearly missed it

Respectfully this is a sample of one presented as a finding.
my eGFR moved before the scale did and i nearly missed it
okay but what dose of sema are you on
week 16 and i am still not at maintenance, do not rush the ladder
my eGFR moved before the scale did and i nearly missed it
Maintenance for 2 months now. Weight moves within about 3kg and the dose is a quarter of what it peaked at.
Ozempic versus Wegovy versus research grade is the wrong argument, they are literally the same molecule
my eGFR moved before the scale did and i nearly missed it
Counter-anecdote: opposite result, same dose. Which mostly tells us the variance is huge.
okay but what dose of sema are you on
Small correction: the trial was 17 weeks, not 27. Does not change your point but people will quote it.
stalled at 7.5mg, went up, and regretted it, the stall would have broken anyway
Hard agree. Week 82 me needed this. Week 33 me is nodding smugly.
Right, and the corollary is that stopping escalation does not reset your tolerance, it just pauses the clock.
What colour is the pen? Wegovy and Ozempic use different formulations.
week 90 on the pen, 14kg down, this is the answer
Hard agree. Week 9 me needed this. Week 55 me is nodding smugly.
