30mg vial, 2mL water, concentration is 30/2 — write it on the vial afterwards
comment on cloudy after reconstitution — discard, right? right. in c/reconstitution · 29 points · 13 days ago
Every time this gets posted it hits the front page and every time someone has to re-explain it.
comment on reconstituted at 1mL instead of 2mL and caught it before injecting. lucky. in c/reconstitution · 28 points · 16 days ago
stopper coring on the 3th draw because you keep using the same entry point.
Counter-anecdote: opposite result, same dose. Which mostly tells us the variance is huge.
comment on does insulin syringe actually matter or is it forum lore at this point in c/reconstitution · 8 points · 19 days ago
dead space is real and the syringe matters
comment on 24 months in and insulin syringe is still the thing I get wrong in c/reconstitution · 56 points · 23 days ago
show your working or it is unhelpful
comment on [Results] 26 weeks on 5mg, full numbers, ask me anything boring in c/reconstitution · 26 points · 1 months ago
bacteriostatic and sterile water are not interchangeable, do not use them that way
comment on insulin syringe is the most under-discussed thing in c/sideeffects in c/reconstitution · 30 points · 2 months ago
the concentration on the vial in marker is the most important step
comment on [Discussion] the insulin syringe advice in here is 10 years out of date in c/reconstitution · 1 points · 3 months ago
Cored the stopper on my 5th draw because I kept using the same entry point. Rotate the puncture site.

The practical rule people converge on is 28 days at fridge temperature after first puncture, and that comes from the preservative, not the peptide.

Cosigning.
Adding to this: mg/mL is doing more work than the comment implies.
comment on [Discussion] bacteriostatic water is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/reconstitution · 16 points · 3 months ago
Inter-lab variance on this kind of assay is routinely 1–2 points. Different column, different gradient, different integration.
comment on France: mg/mL, and what it actually costs here in c/reconstitution · 47 points · 6 months ago
Yeah, showing the arithmetic is the fastest way for someone to spot the error.
comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about bacteriostatic water until somebody posts a number in c/reconstitution · 83 points · 7 months ago
swirl, do not shake, or you are courting oxidation
comment on [Question] how do you actually verify dead space in c/reconstitution · 5 points · 7 months ago
Are you using a u-100 or u-40 syringe? That changes everything.
comment on [Question] how do you actually verify dead space in c/reconstitution · 49 points · 7 months ago
u-100 syringe, not u-40, or your math is off by factor of 15
comment on [Meta] proposal — a flair for bacteriostatic water posts in c/reconstitution · 181 points · 1 year ago
Yeah, showing the arithmetic is the fastest way for someone to spot the error.
comment on bacteriostatic water: the version I wish someone had shown me in week 1 in c/reconstitution · 58 points · 1 year ago
Spent 20 weeks confused about concentration math until someone showed me the table. 5mg, 2mL, concentration is 5/2.
comment on week 61 check-in — 7kg down, reflux manageable, one thing confusing me in c/reconstitution · 218 points · 1 year ago
Not convinced. The evidence does not support that reading.
comment on concentration — 20 things I got wrong before I got it right in c/reconstitution · 367 points · 1 year ago
Slight fix: the number was 96.8, not 99.1. Decimal point, but a fairly consequential one.
comment on small win: reconstitution stopped being a problem at week 66 in c/reconstitution · 4 points · 1 year ago
The confident tone is doing a lot of work that the evidence is not.
