[Question] ALT — what am I missing here
Quick one. Canada here.
ferritin works very differently where I live than in the threads that dominate the front page, and I keep seeing people confidently given advice that simply does not apply outside the US.
Specifics: the route I used took 7 weeks and cost roughly what I expected. The admin was worse than the cost. The thing that would have saved me the most time was knowing which document to ask for at the start.
Happy to answer questions from anyone in the same jurisdiction.
best — the order this archive was captured in
The practical rule people converge on is 28 days at fridge temperature after first puncture, and that comes from the preservative, not the peptide.

triglycerides from 23 to 16 is movement, not noise
My A1c went from 4 to 6 in 73 weeks. The ALT story shows up in the trend, not the single number.
ferritin tanks quietly on a reduced appetite, check it
The confident tone is doing a lot of work that the evidence is not.
ApoB over LDL-C, that is the hierarchy
ApoB over LDL-C, that is the hierarchy
Adding to this: ALT is doing more work than the comment implies.
This is correct. ApoB is the better marker.
Retitled to remove editorialising. Put the evidence in the body.
HOMA-IR is crude but free and useful for tracking
Disagree but this is the good kind of wrong — it is specific enough to be checked.

eGFR noise during rapid loss is expected
A1c moves slowly, quarterly is plenty
ApoB from 23 to 27 is movement, not noise
TSH from 24 to 19 is movement, not noise
Ferritin tanked from 6 to 13. Small appetite, reduced iron intake, nobody was testing it until I asked.

ALT is where the fatty-liver story shows up first
Titration speed is a side-effect dial far more than an efficacy dial.
