[Lab] SSA BPC — Medutest came back 97.4% against a claimed 98.3%

Questionbranch of 15 comments

Long-ish post, sorry. tl;dr at the bottom. I have been tracking incretin against eGFR for 3 weeks because I could not find anyone who had. The correlation is weaker than I expected, which is itself mildly interesting given how confidently people link the two in here. Caveats up front: one person, one lab, one assay,…

Every time this gets posted it hits the front page and every time someone has to re-explain it.

the half-life is appetite, affects steady state timing

Not to be pedantic but gastric emptying and mechanism are being used interchangeably and they are not interchangeable in real life.

Slight fix: the number was 98.1, not 98.0. Decimal point, but a fairly consequential one.

Yeah, the incretin mechanism is doing the work here.

the 13-day half-life means week 13 is still ramp-up pharmacokinetically

rodent mechanism tells you what to investigate, not what to expect in humans

gastric emptying is real and explains most early nausea

Where does the incretin data actually come from?
