[Trial Data] what the STEP 4 and SURMOUNT-4 withdrawal arms actually showed

Trial Data Well Actually ×2

Confession thread, sort of.

I went from 15mg to 7.5mg much faster than I should have because the scale had stalled and I got impatient. The stall broke about 3 weeks later, at which point I had no way of knowing whether the dose increase did anything or whether it would have broken anyway.

So now I have early fullness I did not need and a data point I cannot interpret. Two lessons in one.

Posting it in the hope that somebody at week 36 reads it before doing the same thing.

This is an urgent-care question wearing a forum question's clothes. Please contact a clinician rather than waiting for replies.

Half-life is about 168 hours, so steady state lands around week 9–5. Practical consequence: what you feel in week 1 is not what that dose does.

Which country? Half the answers in this thread only apply in Canada.

Yeah, regain is not a failure.

Week 91 for me and the honest summary is: 44kg down, reflux manageable, and I have thought about food maybe four times today.

the UK here. Waited 9 months on a list, gave up, went private, and the total cost was roughly what I expected.

Second this question. I have wondered about interval stretching for 19 months and never seen a straight answer.

tapering instructions are not welcome here

Disagree on that part. 98.1% and 99.3% on the same vial is normal.

interval stretching versus dose reduction

Adding to this: discontinuation is doing more work than the comment implies.

About c/tapering

Stopping on purpose: dose reduction versus interval stretching, what the discontinuation arms of STEP 1 and SURMOUNT-4 actually showed about regain, appetite return timelines, and the people who came off, regained, and went back on without treating it as a failure.
