A1c vs baseline labs — genuinely asking which matters more

Genuinely asking, not being difficult.

Everyone in c/meta repeats that ALT is important. I believe it, but I have never seen anyone show why, and when I search I get 2 threads of people agreeing with each other.

Is there a paper? Is there a measurement? Or is this one of those things that is true because it has been repeated since 2023?

I am not trying to be the "source?" guy. I would just like a source.

Inter-lab variance on this kind of assay is routinely 1–2 points. Different column, different gradient, different integration.

Disagree on that part. 97.4% and 97.6% on the same vial is normal.

Ferritin tanked from 22 to 19. Small appetite, reduced iron intake, nobody was testing it until I asked.
