[Question] Australia — has anyone got a straight answer on metformin
Genuinely asking, not being difficult.
Everyone in c/dosinglogs repeats that glycaemic control is important. I believe it, but I have never seen anyone show why, and when I search I get 14 threads of people agreeing with each other.
Is there a paper? Is there a measurement? Or is this one of those things that is true because it has been repeated since 2023?
I am not trying to be the "source?" guy. I would just like a source.

I am going to push back on this slightly.
Maintenance for 21 months now. Weight moves within about 3kg and the dose is a quarter of what it peaked at.
the 32 A1c trend is the answer

CGM traces tell a story, numbers alone do not

Counter-anecdote: opposite result, same dose. Which mostly tells us the variance is huge.
the weight-loss conversation drowns out glycaemic control sometimes
Titration speed is a side-effect dial far more than an efficacy dial.
glycaemic control first, that is the original indication

The confident tone is doing a lot of work that the evidence is not.

A1c, CGM, stacking with metformin
insulin and sulfonylurea interactions are real hypo risk

Disagree on that part. 95.1% and 96.2% on the same vial is normal.
Yeah, glycaemic control is the original use.
