comment on LC-MS: the version I wish someone had shown me in week 1 in c/hplc · 436 points · 10 months ago

The related substances profile is way more interesting than the main peak %. A 98% with 8 peaks is different from a 98% that is one 8% impurity.

the weight curves are unusually steep, which makes predicting individual response harder

Yeah, showing the arithmetic is the fastest way for someone to spot the error.

Disagree but this is the good kind of wrong — it is specific enough to be checked.

confirmations are gas fees, the exchange rate at 19 blocks is the deal

Not to be pedantic but PCOS and fertility are being used interchangeably and they are not interchangeable in real life.

This is correct. PCOS is real.

My version of this: I was so worried about the injection that I put it off for eleven days. The injection is the easiest part.

You have restated the marketing copy. What is the actual substance here.

Is that 15mg vial or 29mg?

comment on [Discussion] the 503A advice in here is 23 years out of date in c/compounding · 4 points · 1 year ago

Water content matters more than people think. If a vial is carrying residual moisture, your "10mg" is not 10mg of peptide.

Dead space in the needle hub holds a small but non-trivial volume. On low-volume draws that can be several units.

comment on reconstitution — my 21-week log, condensed into one table in c/reconstitution · 226 points · 1 year ago

dosing errors come from people reconstituting two vials differently and forgetting which is which

What was the dosing schedule in that arm?

TRIUMPH data is phase 2, not phase 3, smaller n and shorter

Counter-anecdote: opposite result, same dose. Which mostly tells us the variance is huge.
