c/sideeffects wiki

Everything you would otherwise have to learn by getting a post removed. GI, fatigue, hair, heart rate. What passes, what needs a doctor.

wiki page · last revised 16 Jul 2026 · maintained by community volunteers

What this community is for

Side-effect experience and management, with a strong bias toward the ones that are common and boring (nausea, constipation, reflux, fatigue, sulphur burps) and a hard line on the ones that are not (severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, jaundice, vision changes). This community is not a substitute for urgent care and the mods will say so bluntly.

c/sideeffects was created on 22 Aug 2023 and currently has 118,600 members and 130 captured submissions. It sits in the busiest tier of the site, which mostly affects how fast a question gets answered rather than how well.

The one-line version

GI, fatigue, hair, heart rate. What passes, what needs a doctor.

Rules, and why each exists

Community rules come first, then the six site-wide rules that apply everywhere on GLP Research Hub. Community rules are enforced by the moderators listed at the bottom of this page; site rules are enforced by everyone.

  1. Severe or escalating abdominal pain is an urgent-care question, not a forum question. We will lock those threads with a pointer to help.
  2. Describe your dose, your week number and your titration speed — otherwise nobody can help.
  3. No diagnosing strangers. Share what happened to you.

And the site rules, which are short on purpose:

  1. Independent community. Nobody here sells anything, and anyone who tries is banned.
  2. Not medical advice. Describe what you did; never prescribe to a stranger.
  3. Claims need evidence. Batch numbers, dated screenshots, independent test reports, or a citation.
  4. No referral links, discount codes or affiliate URLs. Permanent ban, no appeal.
  5. No contact handles, wallet addresses or tracking numbers — they identify people.
  6. Be recognisably decent. Disagree hard, insult nobody.

Asked constantly

If your question is on that list, read the answers there first. If it is not, ask it — that is what the community is for, and "this has been asked" is only a helpful reply when it comes with a link.

Who runs this

Moderation here is done by volunteers who also post as normal members. They are not clinicians, not vendors, and not paid.

  • u/nausea_notes — Nausea log, 14 months, what helped and what was placebo. Ginger did nothing for me.
  • u/constipation_club — Magnesium, fibre timing, hydration, movement. In that order of impact for me.
  • u/quiet_moderator — I remove the obvious stuff so you never see it. Message the modmail, not me.
  • u/gentle_correction — You can be right without being unkind. Usually.

Wiki pages are community-maintained summaries, not clinical guidance. If a wiki page and your clinician disagree, your clinician wins.
