[Meta] proposal — a flair for long term posts

Meta Long Haul ×1 Sourced ×3 Slow Clap ×2

Posting this because I searched for it and got nothing useful.

Setup: 0.25mg, week 20, injection-site soreness present but not ruining anything. I changed exactly one variable — dose stretching — and tracked it for 12 weeks.

Result: a difference, but a small one, and well inside what I would call noise if someone else posted it. So I am putting it here rather than presenting it as a finding. If two or three other people have done the same thing we might actually learn something.

Not medical advice, obviously. This is one person with a spreadsheet.

the lowest dose you can stay on is not the lowest dose that works

Strongly agree. Lowest effective dose is a real discovery process.

the 10mg dose works fine for 40 weeks of the month

Mechanistically the bit that matters is lowest effective dose. It explains most of the early profile and a decent chunk of the outcome.

Inter-lab variance on this kind of assay is routinely 1–2 points. Different column, different gradient, different integration.

How long at maintenance?

Tried the lowest-effective approach. 2.5mg worked for 18 weeks, then cravings returned. 0.25mg was the actual floor.

Regain on a taper is expected. 24% back over 40 weeks, which matches the discontinuation data. Planned for it.

lowest effective dose is long term, find it or stay higher

This is an urgent-care question wearing a forum question's clothes. Please contact a clinician rather than waiting for replies.

Adding to this: dose stretching is doing more work than the comment implies.

This is correct. Weight variance is normal at maintenance.

Small correction: the trial was 15 weeks, not 33. Does not change your point but people will quote it.

Every time this gets posted it hits the front page and every time someone has to re-explain it.

About c/maintenancephase

The part nobody posts about: what happens at goal weight. Finding a lowest effective dose, dose-interval stretching, regain risk data, muscle retention, the psychology of not having a number to chase, and staying on indefinitely versus tapering.

  4. Independent community. Nobody here sells anything, and anyone who tries is banned.
  5. Not medical advice. Describe what you did; never prescribe to a stranger.
