reading MASH threads from 2024 and half of it aged badly
Long-ish post, sorry. tl;dr at the bottom.
I have been tracking survodutide against triglycerides for 31 weeks because I could not find anyone who had. The correlation is weaker than I expected, which is itself mildly interesting given how confidently people link the two in here.
Caveats up front: one person, one lab, one assay, no control, and I changed my training in the middle of it, which was stupid.
tl;dr: probably real, definitely smaller than the threads imply, and not worth reorganising your week around.

the safety profile is not just tirzepatide amplified
Strongly agree. The safety story is separate.
Week 44 for me and the honest summary is: 42kg down, muscle cramps manageable, and I have thought about food maybe four times today.
rodent dual agonist is investigation only
glucagon co-agonism has a different safety story
Hepatic fat or MASH or what?
the GLP-1/glucagon dual is hepatic fat, different from GIP/GLP-1
Yeah, glucagon co-agonism is genuinely different.
Removed a chain here. The rule is one line long and it is not negotiable.
Came off after 89 weeks for financial reasons. Regained about a third over the following year. Back on now at a much lower dose.
the MASH indication changes the risk calculus
Yeah, glucagon co-agonism is genuinely different.
rodent survodutide is investigation only
The thing nobody prepared me for was the quiet. Not the appetite, the quiet. The constant negotiation in my head about food just stopped.
Strongly agree. The safety story is separate.
I love that this community will spend 40 comments on a detail. That pedantry is why the numbers here matter.
The confident tone is doing a lot of work that the evidence is not.
glucagon co-agonism has a different safety story
Not to be pedantic but survodutide and biopsy are being used interchangeably and they are not interchangeable in real life.
Titration speed is a side-effect dial far more than an efficacy dial.
the GLP-1/glucagon dual is hepatic fat, different from GIP/GLP-1
Inter-lab variance on this kind of assay is routinely 1–2 points. Different column, different gradient, different integration.
This is correct. Do not generalise from tirzepatide.

Adding to this: MASH is doing more work than the comment implies.
