the SURPASS thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down

Lab Slow Clap ×7 Receipts ×3 The Quiet One ×2

Confession thread, sort of.

I went from 10mg to 2.5mg much faster than I should have because the scale had stalled and I got impatient. The stall broke about 5 weeks later, at which point I had no way of knowing whether the dose increase did anything or whether it would have broken anyway.

So now I have constipation I did not need and a data point I cannot interpret. Two lessons in one.

Posting it in the hope that somebody at week 71 reads it before doing the same thing.

The SURMOUNT readouts are real but less consistent than STEP. Some people plateau earlier on tirz.

Zepbound and Mounjaro are literally the same drug, the name is the only difference

How long at each step before you escalated?

SURMOUNT data is messier than STEP data but the weight loss is there

Disagree. What you are describing is consistent with tirzepatide, not with what you concluded.

stalled on sema, tried tirz, and the curves were actually different shapes

Vial-splitting is on-topic here. Do not ask about pen-cracking, that goes in c/reconstitution.

the 15mg is the top of the pen, not the required dose

What was the trial arm you are quoting from? SURMOUNT-1, -2, -3 are all different.

the GIP side does different things than the GLP-1 side, that is the point

Disagree on that part. 98.7% and 98.9% on the same vial is normal.

the dual agonism hits different and that is why people describe it differently

the appetite change on tirz is more than just reduced hunger, it is different machinery

This is the "correlation is mechanism" thing again. You changed three variables at once.

My TSH moved faster on tirz than on sema at the same timepoint, which matches what people report.

u/dexa_twice_yearlybody comp36 points·2 years ago

This matches the trial data. SURMOUNT-1 was 99.0% body weight at 22 weeks.

Hard agree. The food noise disappears differently on the two compounds.

Is that on Mounjaro pens or research tirzepatide?

Vial-splitting is on-topic here.

Counter-anecdote: opposite result, same dose. Which mostly tells us the variance is huge.

week 47 on Mounjaro and the appetite profile is genuinely different from sema

About c/tirzepatide

Tirzepatide-specific discussion: the dual-agonist pharmacology, the 2.5 → 15mg ladder, the appetite profile people describe as different from semaglutide, and the SURMOUNT/SURPASS trial programme. Comparisons with semaglutide are welcome as long as they are specific about dose equivalence being unknown.

c/tirzepatide rules
  1. "Tirz is better than sema" needs a comparator dose or it is a vibe, not a claim.
  2. Vial-splitting and self-compounding discussion stays in c/reconstitution.
  3. No pen-cracking tutorials. Discussing that people do it is fine; instructions are not.
  4. Independent community. Nobody here sells anything, and anyone who tries is banned.
  5. Not medical advice. Describe what you did; never prescribe to a stranger.
  6. Claims need evidence. Batch numbers, dated screenshots, independent test reports, or a citation.
  7. No referral links, discount codes or affiliate URLs. Permanent ban, no appeal.
  8. No contact handles, wallet addresses or tracking numbers — they identify people.
  9. Be recognisably decent. Disagree hard, insult nobody.
