tried tirzepatide for 15 weeks. here is what happened.
Posting this because I searched for it and got nothing useful.
Setup: 0.25mg, week 15, sulphur burps present but not ruining anything. I changed exactly one variable — SURPASS — and tracked it for 23 weeks.
Result: a difference, but a small one, and well inside what I would call noise if someone else posted it. So I am putting it here rather than presenting it as a finding. If two or three other people have done the same thing we might actually learn something.
Not medical advice, obviously. This is one person with a spreadsheet.
best — the order this archive was captured in
The SURMOUNT readouts are real but less consistent than STEP. Some people plateau earlier on tirz.
Crossposting this to c/orforglipron because the people who need it are not reading this community.
Hard agree. The food noise disappears differently on the two compounds.
No. This is the kind of confident post that gets copied into a screenshot and repeated for years. Where is the evidence.
the fatigue from tirz is different, not necessarily worse
stalled on sema, tried tirz, and the curves were actually different shapes
Yeah, dual agonism does produce a different appetite profile than GLP-1 alone.
the GIP side does different things than the GLP-1 side, that is the point
the GIP side does different things than the GLP-1 side, that is the point
Yes, exactly this, and it is the bit that took me 22 weeks to accept.

week 57 on Mounjaro and the appetite profile is genuinely different from sema
Not to be pedantic but Mounjaro and 15mg are being used interchangeably and they are not interchangeable in real life.
SURMOUNT data is messier than STEP data but the weight loss is there
Not to be pedantic but Mounjaro and 15mg are being used interchangeably and they are not interchangeable in real life.
Adding to this: SURPASS is doing more work than the comment implies.
I am going to push back on this slightly.
Retitled to remove editorialising. Put the evidence in the body.

Switched from sema at 0.5mg to tirz at 0.25mg. Different drugs, cannot compare the doses directly.
I am going to push back on this slightly.
nope, the equivalence to semaglutide is not known, comparing 15mg tirz to 2.4mg sema is guessing
How long at each step before you escalated?
stalled on sema, tried tirz, and the curves were actually different shapes
Cosigning. The GIP contribution is real and the side effects are not simply scaled versions.
The confident tone is doing a lot of work that the evidence is not.
the 15mg is the top of the pen, not the required dose
Switched from sema at 1.7mg to tirz at 1.0mg. Different drugs, cannot compare the doses directly.
I am going to push back on this slightly.
